Ballycotton Bay

When I was small one time we went to Ballycotton but I couldn’t remember much of the experience and so when we visited the place again it was like discovering it for the first time.

There is a design centre in the town, Shanagarry Design Centre, within which you have a Kilkenny shop and a restaurant. The restaurant, half of which is inside the shop and the other half in a conservatory has beautiful views of the area.

After eating you can go to see the lighthouse which is visible in the in the distance from the restaurant. The lighthouse was built in 1851, is located on a little island off the coast of ballycotton and some days of the week they offer tourist trips by boat to the lighthouse.
