I don’t usually like being dictated to in the fashion stakes – I note trends but that doesn’t mean I have to like them or stick by them. I think most people should go by this philosophy and adapt seasonal trends to their own style.
There is however one trend of 2015 that I do happen to love and that’s the colour wine or Marsala 18-1438. The colours that I’m wearing aren’t exactly the same shade but close enough. Every year the Pantone Institute forecasts what will be the colour of trend for the following year. I’m not sure how they do this and how much attention we should pay to it but I love their choice for 2015.
This scarf I bought a couple of years ago in H&M in Madrid and the turtleneck is from Primark (A/W ‘14). As chance would have it plaid continues to be a big trend this year and we are also seeing a revival of the turtleneck. The earrings are also from Primark.
I first saw this style of wearing a scarf almost like a poncho on Honduran blogger Atenas Hernandez’s website. Isn’t it great? Just think of how many scarfs you have at home – this way you can give them a new lease of life. Come summertime it’s also a great look for the beach if like me you hate showing too much skin. Just throw a scarf over your shoulders, belt it at the waist and ready to go.
